Recently, CSSC and the subsidiary Chongqing Chuandong Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. signed a contract to build an 8,000 DWT stainless steel chemical tanker with China Shipping Chemical Transportation Co., LTD., a subsidiary of COSCO Shipping.
Affected by the COVID-19, the contract was signed online. Yumin Gu, deputy General Manager of COSCO Shipping and legal representative of CNOOC chemical transportation,glory authorized representative of CSSC, and Nian Ye, authorized representative of Sichuan Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. signed the contract together, marking that the construction contract of 8000 DWT stainless steel chemical tanker officially came into effect.
The ship is about 119 meters in length, 18.5 meters in width, 9.4 meters in depth, with a design draft of 6.3 meters, a deadweight ton of about 7,920 tons, a speed of 12.8 knots, and a endurance of about 6,000 nautical miles. It is CCS class and carries a five-star red flag.
This project is the sincere cooperation between Sichuan Heavy Industry and COSCO Shipping after 7,800 tons, 13,800 tons and 8,000 tons of stainless steel chemical vessels. The signing of this contract not only consolidated the position of Sichuan Shipbuilding Industry in the construction of small and medium-sized stainless steel chemical ship, but also boosted the confidence of all the employees of the company to forge ahead. At present, Sichuan Shipbuilding Industry co., Ltd. is implementing a three-year action plan for the optimization and upgrading of Marine products. The undertaking of this ship marks that Sichuan Shipbuilding Industry co., Ltd. has achieved initial results in the cultivation of brand ship types represented by middle and high-end stainless steel chemical ship, and its market competitiveness has been further improved.
